Summer Discovery is a five-week program designed to help you explore your future and prepare for success. You’ll participate in engaging experiences, connect with other students, and build valuable relationships within your community. While not required, this program is especially valuable for students considering college as a post-graduation option. You’ll also get a closer look at Penn State as one of those possibilities. Who Can Apply:
Application to the Summer Discovery is limited to current high school juniors living in Allegheny, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, or Somerset County. Space is limited, so we encourage you to submit a thoughtful application!
How to Apply:
The application questions are your chance to tell us about yourself. Be honest and reflective—there are no right or wrong answers! Your responses will help us determine if you’re a good fit for the program and its goals.
Recommendation
At the end of the application, you’ll need to provide the name and email of a recommender who will be asked to complete a short survey on your behalf. This person should know you well and can speak to your strengths, such as a teacher, counselor, coach, or work supervisor. Be sure to have their email address ready before you begin. Note: this person cannot be a classmate or family member.
