Bruin Shelter General Interest Form
Bruin Shelter is a UCLA student-run shelter for homeless students, and is the second student-run homeless shelter of its kind in the country. The goal of Bruin Shelter is to empower the young adult students at UCLA and SMC who are facing housing insecurity by providing them support in housing and social services. By filling out this general interest form, you will be signed up to receive updates on recruitment opportunities. We are committed to serving our fellow Bruins who are in need and we are delighted that you are considering sharing this journey with us.

Bruin Shelter involvement
What kinds of ways would you like to be involved? (Check all that apply)
Shelter Volunteer: You'll be cooking, serving meals, and hanging out with residents (by watching movies, baking cookies, having conversations, and more!). Requires attending volunteer training.
Shelter Supervisor: You'll be managing the shelter and overseeing volunteers over different night shifts. Requires the following trainings: QPR, CPR + first aid, sensitivity, and in-house B Shelter training

7:00 pm Dinner shift supervisors and volunteers arrive and prepare for dinner and intake
8:00 pm Dinner is served
10:00 pm Cut-off time for guest intake
11:00 pm Dinner volunteers leave, loft quiet hours begin
6:00 am Breakfast shift begins if cooking a meal, bagged lunches are made
6:30 am Wake up calls begin
7:00 am Guests must be out of shelter, return Mt. Olive to working order
7:15 am Complete shift notes
