Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Debezium + Kafka CDC Specialist with deep Oracle database integration expertise to help design, implement, and optimise a resilient, production-grade CDC pipeline for our customer. The engagement will focus on scaling Debezium connectors for Oracle, deploying and tuning a multi-node Kafka cluster, and ensuring high availability, low-latency change capture aligned with enterprise best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Oracle → Debezium → Kafka CDC pipeline (multi-node HA setup).
• Configure Oracle supplemental logging, redo log handling, and dictionary strategies.
• Deploy and tune Kafka brokers, Connect, and Zookeeper/Kraft for resilience and throughput.
• Implement security best practices (TLS, SASL, ACLs) across Kafka & Debezium.
• Benchmark and tune throughput, replication, and fault-tolerance (replication.factor, ISR, acks).
• Implement monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka metrics, Debezium metrics).
• Document runbooks, failover/recovery procedures, and provide knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience

• Debezium (Oracle connector, LogMiner/XStream mode) – setup, tuning, troubleshooting.
• Kafka architecture – multi-broker clusters, Connect workers, partitions, replication, durability guarantees.
• Oracle DBA skills – redo/archive log handling, supplemental logging, performance tuning.
• DevOps/Containers – Docker/Kubernetes deployment of Kafka/Debezium/Connect.
• Monitoring & Alerting – experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar.
• Security – Kafka TLS/SASL configuration, credential management.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Ansible).
• Proven track record with enterprise CDC and high-volume, low-latency pipelines.
