FELASA-EFAT WG Survey
Welcome to the FELASA/EFAT Working Group Training Survey.

Excellent skills and competencies of laboratory animal caretakers and technicians are essential in order to ensure the highest possible animal welfare standards and quality of animal experimentation.
The structure for education and training of this group of staff however, varies considerably between European countries. This is the case for both basic education and training as well as continuous professional development (CPD). Whilst some educational career pathways have been established, these are neither sufficiently well adapted to the diversity of the national educational pathways in Europe, nor entirely updated with regards to the EU Directive 2010/63/EU and the learning outcomes for EU Function C in the adjacent Education and Training Framework.

We are therefore asking if you can take a few moments to help us take a snapshot of the current education/training situation is for animal caretakers and technicians in your member country. This information will allow us to target our knowledge and resources to assist with a plan to improve animal caretaker and technician education and training.

Best wishes,
The FELASA-EFAT Working Group on Harmonisation of Education, Training and CPD
