Exploratory Art is the 6th grade foundations course with a focus on the studio art planning, making, and critiquing process. Students will review studio practices and will focus on making work that is reflective of personal investigation and creation of art. Media available to explore and use includes but is not limited to drawing, painting, printmaking, digital art, sculpture, and ceramics. -- Fundación de Arte para el 6to grado con enfoque en la planificación del arte y el proceso de critcar el arte. MUSIC / MUSICA

Music Exploratory / Música Exploratorias
This class is for any student who would like to learn a concert band instrument including woodwinds- flute, clarinet, saxophone; brass- trumpet, trombone, baritone; and percussion- drums and bell sets. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals necessary for learning to play a musical instrument; these include skills such as music theory, sound production, and music appreciation. Basic performance skills and techniques will be developed. This class will include components of orchestra for students who would like to learn to play a stringed instrument: violin, viola, cello, or string bass. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals necessary for learning to play a musical instrument; these include skills such as music theory, sound production, and music appreciation. Basic string skills and techniques will be developed. The group may have a concert performance at the end of the semester. -- Clase para el estudiante quien desesa aprender a tocar un instrumento de concierto. Igual los estudiantes participaran en un concierto y investigan la teoría de la músca, producción de sonido y apreciar la música.

Intermediate Band (6th grade may take with permission) / Música Intermedia (6to grado con permiso solamente)
In this class, students will continue to build upon the musical and instrumental skills they learned previously in band (at least one semester previous experience required). In this class, students will be exposed to a wide variety of musical styles, explore music of different cultures and historical periods, and will learn the basic skills of music composition and improvisation. As students develop on their instrument, more advanced skills and techniques will be introduced. Select students may choose to play a 'color' instrument including piccolo, oboe, bass clarinet, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, french horn, or tuba. The band will have concert performances and will also go on field trips to experience live performances. The class is designed to be a year-long class. Students may still join 2nd semester on a case-by-case basis. -- Clase para el estudiante que tiene la experiencia de tocar un instrumento por lo menos 1 semestre.)

PHYSICAL EDUCATION / EDUCACION FISICA

General Comprehensive PE / Comprensión General de Educación Fisica
Students will become familiar with Secondary PE. Students will begin to develop skills and strategies used in different games and sports. Students will also begin to explore their personal fitness by examining their growth on various fitness tests.  Fitness activities will be incorporated multiple days per week. Students will also work on improving their Character Traits through cooperation used in team sports and activities. -- Clase para el estudiante se familiariza con la educación fisica de la secundaria. Los estudiantes desarrollan habilidades y estratgias para jugar diferentes deportes y explorar salud y el estado fisico personal.

STEM I / Cienicias Tecnologia Ingeñeria y Matematicas

STEM I
Intro to STEM prepares sixth grade students to use computer science for a wide variety of personal and professional activities. Students will learn tips and tricks for using Google apps with ease and creativity. We will also explore computer science through programming and coding, so students can learn about how computers work while solving puzzles and creating games. -- Clase que perpara a los estudiantes del 6to grado a usar y explorar  la ciencia dlgital en varias actividades.
