The purpose of this research is to explore how AI-powered chatbots (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot) are perceived and used by academic and learning-support staff in higher education institutions. The study seeks to understand staff perceptions of the usefulness and ease of use of AI tools, as well as their adoption into daily professional workflows. The findings will help identify opportunities for improving productivity, task efficiency, and institutional practices related to AI implementation in higher education.
Targeted Participants: Academic and learning-support staff (e.g., educators, instructional designers, librarians, learning advisors) employed in higher education institutions in Australia.
Estimated time to complete: The survey will take approximately 5 minutes.
