Mayor Serge Dedina has created a task force in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A cohort of individuals and organizations are working together to help meet people's needs during this challenging time. Please tell us what you are able to do to serve your community. This is a work in progress, so it may take some time to get back with you.
What is the easiest way to contact you?
Email address (if you have one)
Our most pressing need--
We are committed to accepting requests from people in need (via phone, email, or a form submission) and then reaching out to connect them with resources available in our area. We do this through volunteer "Community Partners" who call people and use our resource list to get them the help they need.
Role of a Community Partner:
--You will be connected with a few community members who have asked for help.
--You will have 48 hours to reach out to the person and connect them with available resources (from a list we provide to you). If a request comes in and you're unsure how to help, you will contact our group lead for assistance.
--You will update our Volunteer Coordinator with the outcome of your calls for tracking purposes.
--To provide continuity during this time, you will be the primary contact for your assigned people for the remainder of this crisis.
How will you volunteer?
I will act as a Community Partner
I will run errands or make deliveries
I will help do laundry for people
I will help distribute food at distribution events
I can help people with online issues (web/technical support)
Are you affiliated with a local church or organization?
If you would like to be a Community Partner, please know that follow through is very important. Are you able to commit to contacting people within 48 hours?
