So how can you help out? Are you an extrovert who's ready to join us at a pop-up event handing out free Narcan and safer use kits? Or is packing boxes for our mail order program more your speed? We even have remote opportunities, like fundraising, sharing our social media toolkits, or becoming a Narcan distributor in your neighborhood!

Below is a description of the ways you can get involved with Thrive For Change- you can select the ones that interest you in the next section.

* Asterisk means this activity deals directly with items that relate to substance use found within our safer use kits. Please take care of yourself first & let us know if you have questions.

Are you available during office hours ? You could help with:

  • Mail-Order Mondays*: Working with our mail order team to pack and ship orders from our office. Monday mornings/afternoons
  • Thursday Open Service Hours: Our busiest day! You could find yourself serving food, filling orders for clothes or safer use supplies*, checking our folks in, keeping things stocked and clean, and generally supporting our efforts. Thursday afternoons, 2pm-6pm
  • Kit Building Parties*: This is where all our safer use kits come from! Anyone can show up and help out- no training needed! We eat pizza or other tasty food (vegan always available!), listen to music, make new friends, and build kits to hand out at outreach, in our office, and through mail order. Every other Friday, 12pm-4:30pm
  • Office Support: We can always use help sorting through donations, keeping our supply room stocked* and organized, preparing for outreach and kit building days*, etc. Weekdays during business hours
  • Transporting Supplies: Assisting us with transporting our bulk supplies from our supplier to our office- you will need your own vehicle for this role. Weekdays during business hours
  • Pop-Up Outreach*: This is where we pop up on the street, sidewalk, or parking lot to distribute supplies and do rapid trainings. Various biweekly, monthly, and one-off events
  • Cooking: Making a dish or snack to drop off for our Thursday Open Service Hours or other outreach events. Drop off during business hours
  • Canvassing: Visiting businesses and organizations to distribute our flyers. One-off events, often scheduled to coincide with other events such as outreach and kit building parties

Are you available on weekends ? You could sign up to hand out Narcan and other supplies to the public at  Pride, PERF, and other festivals and events!

Would you prefer to help remotely ? You could:

  • Become a Narcan distributor: Receive a bulk order of naloxone along with the necessary onboarding and training. You can sign up hereMust be in the state of Ohio
  • Fundraising: Sign up to receive communications about fundraising opportunities to help support our efforts.
  • Social Media: Sign up to receive pre-made social media toolkits to share on your own profiles to help spread the word!
