Registration for workshops with Carly Boyce
Carly will be in Winnipeg to facilitate two workshops called "Suicide Intervention for Weirdos, Freaks and Queers". We recognize that there are institutional barriers to accessing mental health care and that many mainstream services are inaccessible for marginalized folks, or may do more harm than good, while we're also at a higher risk of needing mental health supports. As such we frequently end up taking care of ourselves & each other. These workshops are about how we do that in sustainable and effective ways.

we are prioritizing registration of people who are structurally at a disadvantage getting this sort of care; people who are 2SBIPOC, disabled, queer, do sex work, use drugs, have had harmful experiences with psychiatric care, and so on. this is not an exhaustive list; do you identify as someone who fits into one or more of these categories, or something similar we may have left out?
do you have any dietary restrictions?
do you require child care to attend? if so, for what ages?
both buildings are wheelchair accessible, do you have any other access needs? (a ride there/back, esl interpretation, etc)
we'll be in touch by nov 3 at the latest to confirm your registration, make car pooling arrangements (if requested), and send you any last minute details. if you have questions in the meantime, you can email barnone.wpg@gmail.com.
