this event will be hybrid: digital & in person.
we'll be encouraging remote and in-person audiences to interact with
each other.
who can come?
this is an event focused on jewish and trans experiences, but everyone is welcome. it's especially important for us that jews from non-traditional backgrounds feel welcome. you don't need to have any prior knowledge or experience to enjoy our seder.
in-person info
the in-person ticket price includes a hard copy of our haggadah, and a set vegan dinner. as always, our event tickets are pay-what-you-can down to £0.
all sit-in diners will be required to take a lateral flow test (LFT) on the day of the event. we will have tests available for free at the café, but strongly encourage you to take your own test beforehand.
the café has step-free access; all of the doorways are at least 80cm wide. we have a gender-neutral single-stall bathroom which is wheelchair accessible and has grab rails.
read more about our accessibility.
livestream info
the livestream will be online via zoom. we will send a suggested menu and our haggadah to you ahead of time, so you can print it out if you like. we'll also share it on the screen during the event so everyone can follow along.
there will be at least 2 chat moderators.
breaks
the event is 3 hours long, with a 1 hour break for dinner in the middle and optional livestream break-out rooms for more intimate chats.
live-captioning
we will have live-captioning in english, which will be visible on the livestream, on the projector in the café, and on the archived recording. we will not have BSL interpreters.
language
this event will be (mostly) in english. there will be some blessings in hebrew, all with english translations. you don't need to read or understand hebrew to participate.
recording
the event will be recorded and archived on youtube for audiences who can't make the live seder. this means that if you don't want your face or voice to be recorded, you should keep your camera and/or microphone turned off.
food and alcohol
this is an event centered around food: the seder plate. our plate will be vegan and have vegan alternatives for the traditional items, but there is no judgement for what you choose to put on your own seder plate at home.
traditionally, adults drink 4 glasses of wine at peysakh. pink peacock is a dry café and we're committed to making the event fun and accessible for people who are sober. in the café, we will have delicious juice alternatives to wine, as well as a selection of mocktails.
livestreamers, you're of course welcome to drink in your own home. either way, keep in mind that some people on the livestream will probably be drinking, and many probably won't be — so please keep the booze chat to a minimum.
age, sexual content, & content notes
the event is not specifically aimed at children, but will be family-friendly.
there might be some (non-pornographic) nudity and non-graphic discussion of sex.
we will do our best to content note potentially-stressful things.
