The following are considered to be a valid excuse to miss a CHS Band Event, Performance, or Rehearsal:
  • Severe Illness or Medical Emergency (Doctor's Note/Parent Statement Required)
  • Family Emergency (Death in the family)
  • School Sanctioned Activity (Creekview HS or CFBISD)
If you are well enough to be in school, you are well enough to attend all band event, performances, & rehearsals. Unexcused absences include, but are not limited to, organization meetings, work, family vacations, tutorials for class, make up tests, etc. All of these listed MUST NOT CONFILICT with the rehearsal and performance schedule that you are given at the beginning of the school year. Students who enroll in other school activities such as athletics, swim, law academy, choir, theatre, dance, etc. need to plan ahead to avoid conflicts that cannot be resolved. The Band directors will work together with the other teachers, coaches, and directors of various activities to give each student every opportunity to be a part of other groups. Non-school sponsored activities, teams, organizations, or jobs SHOULD NEVER CONFLICT with the practice/performance schedule of the Band.

Once you submit and complete this document, the band directors will review your excused absence request and notify you if it has been accepted/denied. Consequences for missing/being late for CHS Band Events.
  • Unexcused absences can affect your band grade and performance status.
