Sayaw Sa Ilaw - Dancer & Participant Call Out
Kularts and choreographer Sydney Loyola are calling out participants for a community-wide performance of "Sayaw sa Illaw" during the San Francisco Parol Lantern Festival on December 8, 2018 at Jessie Square and Yerba Buena Gardens. Inspired by the sun and the stars, the performance aims to recall and contemporize indigenous practices of celebrating fruitful harvests, a good year, and meditate on and prepare for the future.

We're looking for dancers of ALL ages, shapes, abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and skill levels: from dance company dancers to appreciators of dance. Participants will be able to learn through video tutorial or workshops on Monday evenings at Bayanihan Community Center. Costumes are not necessary; we just ask that you bring two (2) battery-operated candles for the performance. We’d love to dance with you and your friends in celebration of our holiday season!
