Dear Teachers,

My name is Jason Hewitt, and I have been selected to serve on the Teacher Vacancy Task Force called by Governor Abbott and the Texas Education Agency. Not only do I have the responsibility to serve the teachers of Shepherd ISD, but also those in Region 6. My goal is to reach the "Teacher Voice" across the great State of Texas and capture the thoughts and feelings of our teaching staff to share with the task force.

I find it prudent and responsible to hear from teachers; thus, I have developed a quick survey to capture "Teacher Voice." I have also recommended that TEA add additional teachers to join the task force. If you are a teacher, please take a moment to give your thoughts on the issues relating to teacher vacancy and your ideas or solutions to the problem. Teachers, thank you for serving our students. You are the foundation of the education system, and we need to hear from you!
