2018 Special Education Leadership Nomination Form
CEC Chapter #0200 Application Deadline: April 15, 2018

CEC is an international community of educators who are the voice and vision of special and gifted education. CEC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with exceptionalities and their families through professional excellence and advocacy.

Special Education Leadership Award is given in recognition of exemplary leadership in the education of students and/or gifts and talents as well as commitment and dedication to furthering exceptional student education

The person nominated has been recognized by his/her colleagues and/or community as an outstanding Administrator of exceptional children.

Past nominees may be re-nominated. Anyone may nominate one (1) person for the award annually by submitting to the Chapter #0200 awards committee the following:

1. The nominee must be currently involved in a leadership role in service of students with exceptionalities
2. The nominee shall demonstrate exemplary performance over a period of time as an administrator exhibiting such qualities as innovation, imagination, creativity, and ability to inspire. Those achievements must be clearly recognized by members of the profession and others knowledgeable of the nominee’s performance.
3. The nominee must be a member of CEC and must have maintained membership for at least the last three years and engage in work consistent with CEC’s mission statement. The nominee shall be appropriately certified as an administrator teacher or related specialist as recognized by state and professional authorities.

Nominee should answer the questions succinctly, 100 words -150 words minimum for each question.When all information is completed, please submit this form online by hitting the submit button. You may request to have a copy sent to you before you hit the submit button.
2. A letter of nomination from a colleague, administrator, parent of student (if applicable) outlining the educational philosophy and/or the outstanding professional contributions of the nominee to the field of special education
3. Vita/resume of the nominee (three page maximum);
4. One to two letters or testimonials from colleagues, supervisors, education professionals, students, or parents docuementing the nominee’s efforts and/or abilities in the areas of: innovation, evidence of student progress, collaboration, leadership, or mentoring.

2. Nominee is encouraged to be a member of Chapter #0200.

Only nominees meeting the above criteria will be considered for the 2018 Palm Beach County Chapter #200 Special Education Leadership Award. A committee appointed by the President will review nominee’s credentials anonymously. A finalist will be selected from the eligible nominees and all nominees will be notified of the results by April 25, 2018.
