Substitute Teacher/Para Application
FIRST STEP IN THE EMPLOYMENT PROCESS
1. Application for employment: Please answer all items on the substitute application. In the grade level section please check the grade level(s) in which you wish to substitute. If middle or high school is selected please indicate if you have preferred subject areas (i.e. Math, Science, English, etc.). Current references with telephone numbers are required. Only substitutes holding current NH teacher certification (in the area to be taught) will be considered for long term assignments. If applicable, please attach a copy of your certification.
2. Official college transcripts: Applicants must have a minimum of 48 college credits or an associate degree. Official college transcripts must be submitted before employment may begin.
3. Interview: After submitting a complete application (including transcripts) those who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by a school official to schedule an interview.
PAY RATE: Substitutes in teaching positions are paid $70 per day. Substitutes in paraprofessional positions are paid $10.00 per hour. Pay may be pro-rated for all substitute assignments when there is a delayed opening or early dismissal of students.
Long-term teaching assignments will earn per diem rate, based on the teacher’s salary scale, beginning on the 21st consecutive day. NH Educator Certification in the content area being taught is required for long-term assignments and per diem pay.
