We appreciate your interest in Camp U. This 3-day camp is designed for adolescents/teens ages 11-15 who have experienced the death of a family member or friend.
Camp U campers will meet other children who have also experienced the death of a special person. They will participate in sharing circles and will learn ways to cope with the feelings that accompany grief. Campers will also engage in recreational and expressive activities to help process those feelings of grief.
Camp will be held from Monday, June 16 - Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Camp will be held each day from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Children's Bereavement Center - Uvalde, located at 319 N. Getty, Uvalde, Texas 78801.
This camp is offered at no cost to your family. To participate, we do require you and your camper to participate in a camp intake appointment, if your family is not already a client of Children's Bereavement Center. The family intake appointment will be scheduled during the phone interview following enrollment application submission.
All applications are reviewed to determine that the participating adolescent/teen is emotionally ready and will benefit from camp. Spaces available for camp are limited. Application deadline is Friday, June 6, 2025.
Camp applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to first time Camp U applicants.
-Notification of final acceptance to Camp U will be following enrollment, phone interview, in-person intake appointment by camp staff.
-Please note that if you have more than 1 adolescent/teen that you wish to register for camp, an additional application will be required for each child.
