10th NICP Summit Naga City (2018) - Online Registration
ICT Council@Bicol/Metro Naga in partnership with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), and the City Government of Naga will be hosting the 10th NICP ICT Summit on November 22-24, 2018 at The Avenue Plaza Hotel, Naga City, Bicol, highlighting NICP’s decade of championing a more sustainable and inclusive ICT development in the countryside.
This year’s Summit theme: “A DECADE OF INCLUSIVE COUNTRYSIDE DEVELOPMENT: Managing Digital Transformation Driven by Disruptive Technologies”, showcases NICP’s ten (10) years as a champion for ICT Countryside Development. It will attempt to encapsulate decade of creating strategies and transforming the Philippine cities and provinces into digital hubs for employment, investments and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The theme likewise symbolizes the extra mile that ICT Councils, in collaboration with their partner LGUs, have gone to consolidate the efforts of local stakeholders from the different sectors such as the academe, government and industry, aimed at developing the potential of their respective locations, in terms of talent, infrastructure, business environment, and overall competitiveness thus making NICP a venue to promote and display digital inclusiveness.
1. Advocacy campaign on all available opportunities and jobs in ICT.
2. Capacity building for ICT councils and stakeholders.
3. Introduction of new ICT applications, systems and programs.
4. Creation of a working synergy for all stakeholders in ICT development.
5. Collaboration and networking between the private and public agencies/ institutions to achieve target number of jobs and investments.
6. Sharing of programs and best practices among the local stakeholders, with national and international partners.
7. Identification of resources and support for ICT development among stakeholders and partnerships with the private and public sector.
The summit also features an intensive foundational training workshop on cybersecurity with hands-on sessions for beginner and intermediate-level cybersecurity professionals on Nov. 22-23. The training workshop will be conducted by four (4) cybersecurity professionals who spearheaded and are involved in the crafting of the National Cybersecurity Plan; and are part of the National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT-PH). Among them, they have had international exposure and training in cybersecurity in the US, Europe and Japan, including with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and Interpol. The lead resource person, DICT Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity and Enabling Technologies Allan S. Cabanlong, has published work in the U.S. on cyberterrorism, information warfare and internet immobilization, as well as cyberwarfare.

Participants to the Cybersecurity Training Workshop shall have FULL ACCESS to the NICP Summit plenary sessions, activities and events. Only 100 slots are available.

The summit will also provide the general public the chance to learn about opportunities and solutions in new and emerging technologies from some of the country's leading ICT product and service providers. The exhibit is also meant for would-be and existing tech start-ups, investors and businessmen seeking opportunities in the start-up industry. Jobseekers can also understand career opportunities in the IT/BPM industry and start-ups.
