Shake on the Block 2019 Summer Registration
This free seven-week workshop will help young writers discover the magic and fun of immortal bard through playwriting, adaptation and performance. Students will work on breaking down Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, which they will then adapt for performance by adding street slang and modern English. Students will be introduced to the rudiments of the theater making process and develop skills in acting, memorization, adaptation, staging and performance while using their imaginations to create 'dynamic new characters based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The workshop will culminate in a final performance at The Williamsburg Library in Brooklyn that will be free and open to the public.

*Parents can fill out the info fields on the registration form but students should complete the Writing Background field, describing their background and interest in taking the workshop. We will admit students based on the merit of the Writing/Performance background statement.
