We're always looking for ways to improve our district.

Dear South Orange and Maplewood residents,

We are excited to share an opportunity for you to help shape the future of the South Orange & Maplewood School District. We are partnering with Seton Hall University on a market research project to better understand families’ perceptions of our district—what’s working, what could be improved, and how we can better serve our students and community.

This project aims to explore:
✅ What families appreciate about SOMSD
✅ Areas for growth and improvement
✅ Common misconceptions about the district

We expect this market research project to identify areas where the district can strengthen relationships with families, enhance transparency, and gain deeper insights into families' needs beyond our current understanding.

We appreciate the SHU Market Research Center students for assisting us with this delve and will happily share our findings at the end of this school year.
