Please complete the following form to request enrollment in MS Thesis or PhD Dissertation credit hours prior to the start of the semester of your request. Anna and Megan will enroll students on a weekly basis, usually on Monday mornings. If you have not already discussed your enrollment plan with your faculty advisor, please do so BEFORE you request your dissertation or thesis credits. This discussion should address a timeline for your comprehensive exam (PhD) and final defense (MS Thesis and PhD).

Important reminders about dissertation or thesis credit registration:

PhD Students
- You must complete 30 dissertation credits as part of the PhD program. While you are not penalized academically for additional dissertation credits, there is no benefit to registering for more than 30 credits. Additionally, your faculty advisor will be responsible for the tuition cost of excess credits.
- You may register for a maximum of 10 dissertation credits in any given semester.
- You will be considered a full-time student if you register for at least 1 dissertation credit prior to your comprehensive exam.
- You must register for 5 dissertation credits every spring and fall semester after you complete your comprehensive exam. You must also register for 5 dissertation credits during the semester you complete your final defense, including summer semesters.
- The tuition cost for 1-3 credits is the same and the graduate program typically recommends registering for a minimum of 3 dissertation credits if you are only enrolling in dissertation credits.

MS Thesis Students
- You must complete 6 thesis credits as part of the MS Thesis program. We recommend doing so in the last year of your program.
- You will be considered a full-time student if you register for at least 1 thesis credit.
- You may register for a maximum of 6 thesis credits during the program. If you need to register for additional thesis credits, please contact Megan for additional information.
