The Haskell eXchange is an independent conference organised for and by thecommunity.
We are looking for contributions for this year's conference, in particular for:- Talks about Haskell libraries and tools- Experience reports on the use of Haskell in various environments- Explanations of interesting programs or language concepts- Tutorials on the use of Haskell itself, or particular Haskell librariesand tools- Coding techniques, tips and tricks- Talks about the implementation of Haskell compilers and tools- Ideas for language design and the future of Haskell- Impressions of other programming languages that are related to Haskell
Most importantly, we're looking for talks that inspire and educate.If your proposal doesn't fit into any of the above categories, it doesn'tmatter!
Feel free to propose a talk about a topic you find interesting, even if youhave not contributed to that topic yourself.
If we get sufficient material, we would like to offer a track specificallyaimed at Beginners at this year's event. We therefore particularly encouragesubmissions that are targeted at Beginners.
We are planning to have three types of sessions:- regular talks (35 minutes + 10 minutes discussion),- lightning talks (10-15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion),- hands-on workshops (approximately 120 minutes; if your proposal is accepted, we will contact you to discuss details).
The selection will be made by the programme committee on the basis ofmaking this as varied and interesting an event as possible.
As proponents of diversity we encourage talks from everyone no matter sex,race, creed, sexuality or ability.
We're especially keen to hear from people who haven't spoken at conferencesbefore. If you are apprehensive of presenting, please know that ourcommunity is very friendly & this is a safe way to dip your toes in thepublic speaking arena. If you are not keen to give a talk on your own -feel free to pair with someone! All accepted speakers will receive a ticketto the conference, plus an additional complimentary ticket.
