Haskell eXchange 2016 - Call for Papers
Haskell eXchange 2016
Thursday 6th and Friday 7th October
https://skillsmatter.com/conferences/7276-haskell-exchange-2016

The Haskell eXchange is an independent conference organised for and by the
community.

We are looking for contributions for this year's conference, in particular for:
- Talks about Haskell libraries and tools
- Experience reports on the use of Haskell in various environments
- Explanations of interesting programs or language concepts
- Tutorials on the use of Haskell itself, or particular Haskell libraries
and tools
- Coding techniques, tips and tricks
- Talks about the implementation of Haskell compilers and tools
- Ideas for language design and the future of Haskell
- Impressions of other programming languages that are related to Haskell

Most importantly, we're looking for talks that inspire and educate.
If your proposal doesn't fit into any of the above categories, it doesn't
matter!

Feel free to propose a talk about a topic you find interesting, even if you
have not contributed to that topic yourself.

If we get sufficient material, we would like to offer a track specifically
aimed at Beginners at this year's event. We therefore particularly encourage
submissions that are targeted at Beginners.

We are planning to have three types of sessions:
- regular talks (35 minutes + 10 minutes discussion),
- lightning talks (10-15 minutes + 5 minutes discussion),
- hands-on workshops (approximately 120 minutes; if your proposal is accepted,
we will contact you to discuss details).

The selection will be made by the programme committee on the basis of
making this as varied and interesting an event as possible.

As proponents of diversity we encourage talks from everyone no matter sex,
race, creed, sexuality or ability.

We're especially keen to hear from people who haven't spoken at conferences
before. If you are apprehensive of presenting, please know that our
community is very friendly & this is a safe way to dip your toes in the
public speaking arena. If you are not keen to give a talk on your own -
feel free to pair with someone! All accepted speakers will receive a ticket
to the conference, plus an additional complimentary ticket.

We are also still looking for sponsors. If you are interested in supporting
the conference, please contact us at haskellx@skillsmatter.com.

Timeline:
- Call closes on the 8th of July 2016.
- We will disclose selected talks in batches.
