Romeoville High School will:
Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards.
Hold parent-teacher conferences during which your child’s individual progress will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.
Provide parents with frequent communication on their children’s progress through internal and external assessments.
Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents as follows: by phone, email or individual conferences.
Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class and to observe classroom activities, as follows:
Visit classrooms ensuring prior approval from Principal & Teacher
Volunteer for classroom activities such as reading to students, helping with math, helping with technology, or serving on school committees.
Attend parent nights, Title I Reading nights, and Parent Universities
As a parent, I will do my best to:
- Talk to my child about what and how they are learning in school.
- Understand what my child is learning and what he/she needs to do to be successful.
- Partner with the school in making decisions relating to my child’s education.
- Promote positive use of my child’s extracurricular time.
- Stay informed about my child’s education and communicate regularly with the school.
- Monitor my child’s attendance.
