This participant-driven program is designed to hone Earth-living skills of all kinds. We do literally sharpen our knives and hatchets. In addition to instruction and supervision in tool sharpening and use, we also... * Fashion functional wearable items to support our woodland wanderer images (leather sheaths, belts, pouches, bracelets, containers, arrow quivers, finger and arm guards, etc)
* Whittle and carve
* Foray into foraging food and campfire cooking
* Freshen up our friction fire-making
* Shoot arrows and chuck atl-atls
* Otherwise prepare for lots of adventures in the woods
This program is designed with 9-12 year olds in mind. Advanced younger participants will be considered at instructor (Wren's) discretion. Older teens interested in developing their leadership skills are welcomed as well (contact Wren directly for availability). Ability to focus for periods of time and some experience with knife use/safety are a necessity.
