Monday, Jan 20 MLK Day Lobby Day in Olympia!
It's time to raise our voices and be present in politics that impact our students, colleagues and schools. Join us on the bus! It's fun and important. FWEA is organizing this bus for all of the Puget Sound Uniserv Council, and we welcome your kids, your spouse and community members.

We have important priorities around equity, student mental health and educator privacy (pass HB1888 to keep our birth dates from being given away to radical groups)! There is also a bill for NBCT stipend parity for nurses, SLPs and others.

Here is how our day looks:

8:15am meet at WEA 32032 Weyerhaeuser Way S, Federal Way (we'll have bagels, coffee, restroom, sign making!)
8:30am: Bus leaves for Olympia
9:30am briefing at the Women's Club of Olympia. We will hear from elected officials and learn about the legislative session, then walk 2 blocks to the legislature.
11am-12:15pm Meeting with our local Federal Way legislators in the legislature. Members can also arrange their own appointments during this time (let us know if you need help). Meetings are set up with Duane Davidson (State Treasurer at 10:30) and Kim Wyman (Secretary of State) at 11:30am as posted below
12:35pm Gather on the steps for our rally including Governor Inslee!
1:00pm back on the bus
1:40ish arrive back at WEA (traffic dependent of course, but we'll have the HOV lane).

It could be cold, so please bring a jacket and gloves and sensible shoes. Wear Red if possible (but warm is the priority). Signs are welcome.

Let us know if you have any questions!
