PERFORMANCE SUPPORT: "front of house" and emcees. Help give all audience members a warm welcome! Learn the ropes by shadowing other crew.

I would be happy to help with tasks such as: setting up chairs; making popcorn; checking in audience members; helping to sell tickets, concessions and "merch"; and helping with clean up. Shifts typically start an hour before show time and end about 30 minutes after the performance.

I think I might be a good emcee (engaging & lightly entertaining the audience without overshadowing the featured performers. Script provided!)

PERFORMANCE SUPPORT: tech crew. Assist our wonderful performers, from first-timers to seasoned professionals! Call times are typically 5pm for solo shows and 12pm for puppet slams, in order to participate in a tech rehearsal before the show(s).

I would be interested in helping out as a stagehand. Learn by shadowing other crew.

I would be interested in running lights, video, or audio, and I am ready to learn! Training will be offered on a non-show-day.

HOSPITALITY: meals, transportation, and hosting

I would be open to preparing and delivering a meal for up to 10 performers and crew. Black Cherry will offer a stipend for groceries.

HANDS-ON PROGRAMS: art education and community builds

I am interested in helping with workshops and educational programs on weekends.

I may have some availability on weekdays to prep materials or help with workshops/classes.

I am interested in helping to facilitate community builds - leading up to events like our annual puppet parades at the SoWeBo Festival on Memorial Day weekend.

ART SKILLS: promotional materials and video

I make 2D artwork, and I would be interested in designing promotional materials such as t-shirts, postcards, posters, and more.

I make 2D artwork, and I would be happy to make some of my images available for Black Cherry to possibly incorporate into promotional materials.

I am skilled in graphic design, and I would be happy to add text to another artist's existing imagery to create promotional materials.

I am skilled in video editing and could help manage Black Cherry content.

ART SKILLS: puppets and puppet staging. Experienced help is sought in these areas.

GENERAL OPERATIONS: help out with the administrative side of running a theater. Great opportunities to volunteer remotely, with periodic in-person check-ins welcome!
