Excellence in Health Disparities Research Award 2023: Supplemental Submission Information

Description of Award: The HSC ODI Excellence in Health Disparities in Research Award is open to all faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows at the university who present studies at Research!Louisville that investigate issues of disparities related to healthcare disparities and/or health status disparities. 

The award, sponsored by the Health Science Center Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is designed to recognize, and reward investigators’ efforts to address gaps in knowledge and to encourage new investigation focused on “population-specific differences in the presence of disease, health outcomes, or access to healthcare. “

Award amounts: 1st place - $500; 2nd place - $300; 3rd place - $200

Scoring criteria:  Judges for the Excellence in Health Disparities Research Award will score submissions based on the following criteria: 

  • Poster design and production
  • Clarity of problem/hypothesis/research question
  • Appropriate methodology
  • Logical results/conclusion/discussion
  • Significance/impact
