Tales of the Forgotten Realms: Application form
Throughout the history of the Forgotten Realms, numerous figures have been hailed as heroes by people across the world. Drizzt Do'Urden, Bruenor Battlehammer, Vajra Safahr: The Blackstaff — names that echo in the great halls of kings and queens, in the alleyways where children play at being these legendary figures, and in the lairs of the most despicable villains, where curses are hurled at those who managed to thwart their plans and save the world.

However, these legendary figures are nothing more than ordinary individuals whose origins range from nobility to the lowest rungs of society, united by the fact that they did whatever was necessary to preserve peace and save the lives of all Faerûn’s inhabitants. Now it is the turn of new heroes. When the evil schemes of those who seek to plunge the world into chaos are set in motion, this new generation of adventurers will bear the responsibility of protecting the Forgotten Realms from those who want to destroy everything precious to its people, and they will find their destinies deeply entwined with the duty that will at last befall them.

Perhaps they will become legendary heroic figures, adored by the societies around them and earning the favor of rulers across the continent. Perhaps their contribution will go entirely unnoticed, but those who know them will understand that without their help all would have been lost. Or perhaps their destiny lies at the heart of the maelstrom, and their decisions will take a far darker turn than they anticipated.

Sweat runs down your temple as you struggle to keep up with the raggedly dressed figure ahead of you. The streets of Neverwinter are lit only by lanterns whose flames flicker and threaten to die with each breath of the night wind. Those few still wandering the streets at this late hour turn their heads with curiosity at the sight of two figures sprinting past, but none intervene in the chase that consumes you. 

Suddenly, the figure veers sharply into an alley to the left. Following quickly, you find yourself staring at nothing but an empty passageway. The figure has vanished, and only the pale light of the moon illuminates the place, stretching the shadows long and menacing.
