This years production marks the beginning of a new AWOL series of plays that will focus on Great American Poets and their contributions to society both artistically and as advocates for social change. Conversations is the first in the series and focuses on the works of Mr. Langston Hughes. The show will uses pieces like "A Dream Deferred" and "Democracy" to weave a story of life's pitfalls and triumphs. In preparation for the show, students should spend time studying and analyzing the work of Langston Hughes and his contributions to American poetry as a literary art form.

In order to secure your reservation for the 2013 AWOL Theater Production field trip, confirmation of transportation must be submitted with this form or within 30-days of its submittal. Each school is responsible for securing and paying for its own transportation. If confirmation of transportation is not received via fax or email within the prescribed 30 day time frame, you will lose your reservation in the system. Further, in order to ensure that as many students are afforded an opportunity to participate, a $50 DOLLAR CANCELLATION FEE will be enforced for school canceling their reservation less than 5 days prior to the event. Before reserving seats, please be sure that your school is able to attend.
