WNDB x WAAC School Visit Application

Writers and Artists Across the Country and We Need Diverse Books are excited to partner together on our Authors in the Classroom program. Selected schools will get an hour long author visit-- virtual or in person-- as well as a book for every student in attendance.

To apply, please fill out the following application before 10/12/22. The WAAC & WNDB team will email you by 10/14/22, if your school is chosen.

Please note that you will be responsible for sending photos of students with the books, short blurbs from the students about their experience, as well as signed release forms so that WNDB and WAAC may use these photos and blurbs for future fundraising purposes.

At this time, we are only accepting applications for schools/libraries/organizations within the US and Canada. Previous winners of a WNDB book giveaway within the last six months are ineligible.

AUTHOR VISIT DETAILS:

- Author visits will last 1 hour and may include Q&A and/or book signing

- Every student in attendance will receive a copy of the author's book

- Organizers will work with teachers to figure out logistics

- Students should be prepared for the visit (we encourage teachers to assign the book as homework, but if that's not possible, they should at least take some class time to talk about the author and book before the visit to give the students some context)
