NCDE Access to Exchange Externship Application Winter 2025
Thank you for your interest in the NCDE Access to Exchange Externship. The goal of the externship is to provide you with the opportunity to develop or enhance professional and leadership skills related to inclusive international exchange while supporting the NCDE's outreach efforts.

Please fill out all fields. Once you hit submit, you cannot go back and make changes to your application. We recommend that you start by filling out your answers in a separate document to avoid losing work. Make sure to completely fill out both pages of this form and to think carefully about your essay responses and outreach activity  proposal. Applications are due by Monday March 3, 2025. Finalists will be selected by April 7.

We are open to all outreach projects ideas. Some that connect to current projects of the NCDE that are of particular interest are the following:
  • Create an access guide for a specific country of interest.
  • Create a guide for community college students with disabilities interested in studying abroad.
  • Interview people with disabilities about how they have used their international exchange experience as a boost to their careers.
  • Put together resources featuring travelers to or from the Asia Pacific region.
  • Generate creative content connected to your education abroad such as art, poetry, short stories, or music.
  • Conduct outreach to other international students with disabilities studying in the United States (for  current international student or recent alum).
