Fill out the form below so we know you would like to tryout to be on All Stars staff in 2026.
Hey All-Stars!
It’s hard to believe it is time to get ready for the 2026 All-Star course. This next year is going to be awesome! Because of the overwhelming interest to serve as staff on course, there will again be a change this next year. This change is a result of the struggles and problems we have had the last few courses. We have had too many staff and not enough for you to do to keep you involved. It pains us to limit the number of staff, however we feel it is necessary to have a course that runs well.
With that said, we will be having try-outs for staff this year. It is something we have done in the past when we have had more interest than staff openings.
Here is what you need to commit to if you want to serve on staff.
You will attend a work-up one weekend a month, Feb - June. This is a Friday 6-10 p.m. and the Saturday 7- 12 a.m. 80% attendance at these work-ups is required to come to the course.
You will help set up the All-Star course the Thursday - Saturday previous to the course dates. (pre-course)
You will be assigned to an area of emphasis (Intellectual, Physical, Spiritual, Social, Service), SWAT or QM. There will be assignments given to you in the area you are assigned which you will need to fulfill.
You will need to prepare the four lessons (with flip charts) that the staff teaches to the squads.
You are expected to follow the course rules which you learned on course, which are - Show high levels of respect, Be present, Manage your communication, Be safe, and Have fun.
Being safe includes fostering a safe and inclusive environment with zero tolerance for bullying or harassment of any kind.
If you agree to the above conditions and choose to try out for staff; Then come to try-outs which will be held on January 17th 2026 We will starting with breakfast at 7:00 am. Here is what we expect from you on that date:
Please read carefully so you don’t miss out!
Be prepared to teach the first staff lesson ("Declarations"). This includes a personalized flip-chart. You will be teaching this lesson to 2-3 committee members.
You will be judged on preparedness, quality of the presentation including the quality of your flip-charts, attitude, attire (All Star uniform) and friendliness.
Those who have served on staff previously would gain points by bringing your flip-charts for all four lessons the staff teaches.
New staffers would of course get extra points if you choose to be prepared with more than just the first lesson.
You will be judged at try-outs as to how you interact with others.
You will also be judged by your participation and how well you followed the course rules and direction during our last course.
You will be asked some interview type questions after teaching the lesson.
These lessons and sample flip-charts can be found in the attached email you will get after submitting this form. We are sending this email out now so you will have ample time to prepare for this. If you need assistance or have any questions about these lessons, please contact a previous staffer, a member of the Youth Key 3, Staff Squad Leaders, Jaden (Gator) or another member of the Adult Key 3. Practice this/these lesson(s) with your family/friends so it goes smoothly at try outs.
We are so looking forward to being with you in January. Please don’t let your fear stop you from joining us. If Ken and Gator can be a part of the Key3 and Sam and Caleb in the youth leadership, anything is possible. Being on staff is not always easy, but it is a ton of fun!
FAQ
Question: Do I need to try out if I have previously served on staff?
Answer: Yes. Please understand you will be judged on your teaching as well as how well you performed last year on course.
Question: If this is my first time on staff, does that limit my chances to be on staff? Answer: Absolutely not. We need a variety of experience. If we don’t have new staffers we will never have experienced staffers.
Question: What should I wear?
Answer: Previous staffers: You need to wear your All-Star uniform from last year. We know you have it so find it right now. You won't be able to try out without it.
New staffers: Wear your animal tee from the last course if you still have it. If not, wear an appropriate shirt. We will be playing games in the gym.
Question: I don’t live in Utah and won’t be able to be there for the try-outs. Can I still be involved?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Do I need to let you know if I plan on coming to try-outs?
Answer: We will expect you to come if you submit the form by registering at allstarshighadventure.com. If you can’t make it to tryouts please communicate this to the course director so arrangements can be made to have you teach at another time.
Question: Will there be a course in Texas this year?
Answer: We are discussing having a course in Tyler TX this year during Fall Break. Please Let Brett Garrett brettdeegarrett@gmail.com know you would love to support this direction.
Question: How can I participate as an adult?
Answer: You can sign up as a first time participant or as a member of Staff. Submit one of the forms at allstarshighadventure.com and we will give you call or contact Brett Garrett brettdeegarrett@gmail.com to discuss options before signing up.
