WHYY wants to celebrate the best youth filmmakers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware with two great opportunities: the WHYY Youth Media Awards, a film festival and awards show, and Young Creators Studio, a TV show featuring the works of young producers.

One application enters your video for consideration for both opportunities! We are accepting videos in four categories: news report, documentary, narrative and open. Students throughout the Delaware Valley in grades 6 through 12 are invited to submit videos by March 31, 2021. Eligible submissions must have been created by students living in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware during the creation of the video.

Videos must be less than 7 min. in duration and may be produced by individuals or groups, but must be produced entirely by youth in grades 6-12 during the video's production. The majority of work done on the submitted video must have occurred between August 1, 2019 and Feb 28, 2021. All media used in the video must be owned by the students, used with permission, or used in a manner consistent with the fair use guidelines.

Winning videos will be shown at a virtual screening and awards show in mid-June, 2021. Submitted videos are also eligible to be selected for airing on TV-12 as part of this summer's season of Young Creators Studio, WHYY's showcase of the best youth media in the region.
