START OF NON-QUIZBOWL COMPETITIONS - Knockout Tournament - July 18, 7:00pm *
You can select as many of the non-quizbowl competition events (i.e. medals are awarded for them) as you want as long as you don't overlap where it is not allowed.

If you select this, you CANNOT also do the ancestry.com competition.
Table Combined - July 19, 1:30pm (table tennis / history bee hybrid) *
Don't worry about time overlap (i.e. you can do Table Combined and any other event, even if they are shown as overlapping on the schedule), as we can just schedule your Table Combined matches around your other events.
Pearl Harbor Historical Simulation - July 21, 11:30am *
You cannot do this if you are going to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
Civilization Computer Game Tournament - July 19, 1:30pm *
This costs an extra $25 as we needed to buy 12 laptops solely for this event.
Polynesian History Exam - July 21, 5:30pm *
You CAN do this if you are going to the Polynesian Cultural Center, as you would take the exam there at the same time.
START OF NON-COMPETITION EVENTS Lunchtime Question Writing Clinic - July 19 at 11:30am *
You can select as many of the non-competition events as you want as long as there is no overlap with your other events. For any event that overlaps with a meal, you'll still be able to get a chance to eat.
Hula Lessons (daily at 12pm) *
You can still select this if you have an event that at some point conflicts with the hula lessons.
Ukulele Lessons (daily at 5:30pm) *
You can still select this if you have an event that at some point conflicts with the ukulele lessons. You must bring your own ukulele; you can either order one online (please put it in your hand luggage, it will break if you check it in) or buy one in Hawaii (we can assist with this, but it costs about $30-$100 depending on the quality).
Running Club (daily at 4:30pm from July 19-22) *
The runs last either 20 or 50 minutes depending on the length of the workout you wish. Select this if you would possibly like to run at any point - we're trying to gauge interest levels - you are not required to run every day or even at all if you select this.
Dinner Talk on Elections - July 19 at 6pm (focusing on US elections, though Brexit, Australian, Austrian and other current elections can be discussed too) *
Talent Show - July 19 at 8pm *
If you select this, Olympiad staff will contact you to hear what you'd like to do. You can do something with other students - your talent must not be quizbowl-related.
Trip to Polynesian Cultural Center - July 21 (10am-10pm) *
You cannot compete in the Civilization tournament, or the Sports History Bee if you go. Also, the trip costs either $105 or $130 depending on the dinner show you select.
U Pick-U Write: Russian History Bee - July 21 at 8:30pm *
If you select this, you most likely cannot do the Soccer History Bee. Note - there is a possibility that the timing of this may be changed. If that happens, we will ask everyone if they wish to sign up for it in the new time spot. This is listed as a non-competition event because IHBB cannot guarantee question security/standardized formatting as we are not writing it. No medals will be awarded, though this event will have a winner.
