Are you ready to begin your musical adventure?
Kairos Youth Choir is now enrolling for their 2025-2026 season! Open to children ages 6 to 14, our choir offers formative experiences through choral concerts, nature retreats, professional musical theatre productions, and international tours. Kairos rehearses twice per week during the school year - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:15 PM at Epworth Church, where your child will gain skills in music theory, musicianship, vocal expression and performance, while building community through song.

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:15 to 6:15 PM.
Where: Epworth Church, 1953 Hopkins Street, Berkeley
Join us for an afternoon of welcomes, games, Q&As, and more! All are invited to learn about our program, meet our choristers, choir team, and our Founder and Conductor, Laura Kakis Serper.
Auditions: Students who wish to audition will have an informal, in-person audition with our staff, and possibly with a small group of other prospective choir members. We ask that children ages 9 and above prepare a short song to sing (1-2 minutes in length). If the preference is to have accompaniment, they may bring sheet music for our pianist, Arkadi Serper, or are welcome to sing a cappella. At this stage, Kairos prioritizes creativity and openness to musical direction and does not expect perfect vocal technique. We invite students to choose a song they are excited about sharing, to relax and to have fun! Note: For singers attending an Open Rehearsal, an audition may be scheduled for a later date. Auditions are optional (not required) for students 8 years old and younger.
While taking the challenge of performing an audition is a fun step for many, we also consider children who may wish an alternative way to let us get to know their voice. Parents please discuss with our team if your child needs an individualized accommodation for the audition process.
