Catrina Contest Registration 

Our first-ever Catrina Sculpture Contest, inspired by the traditional Mexican Catrinas. The goal of this contest is to celebrate and promote cultural heritage within our community.

Theme

Create a sculpture of a Catrina, reflecting the vibrant and traditional Mexican Catrina. 

Materials:

Sculptures should be made using recycled, reused materials, mix media with an emphasis on color and creativity.


Considerations for the Participants:

  • Present a 3D sculpture.
  • Individual: Sculptures can be up to 1-2 feet in height.
  • Group (2-4): Sculptures can be up to 4 feet in height.

Deadline:

All sculptures must be dropped off at the Zócalo 636 S 6th St, Milwaukee on Saturday, October 12th, between 12:00 and 2:00 PM. The award ceremony will be at 3pm.

Judging Criteria:

The judges will evaluate creativity, innovation in the use of materials, originality, color, and the incorporation of traditional Catrina elements. Additionally, the participant(s) must provide an explanation of their piece. The top three places in each category will be awarded.
