Miigwech for your interest in Nishnaabemwin North Language Camp. This camp is taking place May 4th to 22nd, 2026 in North Bay, Ontario. This language camp is intended for beginner and emergent language learners.

Eligibility requirements:

18 years of age or older
Able to commit to all 3 weeks of the program
Committed to building a supportive Anishinaabemowin community

Cost:

Accommodations and program fees are covered for accepted participants. Accommodations contain kitchens where participants will be responsible for their own meals. Participants are required to pay a nonrefundable $250 registration fee upon acceptance to this program.

About the Program:

Week 1: An Anishinaabemowin intensive that covers the fundamentals of Anishinaabemowin grammar in a fun, supportive environment.

Week 2-3: Put your language skills into practice in the final 2 weeks of our program through immersion with fluent speakers and L2s. For this part of the program, we ask that you commit to speaking only Anishinaabemowin. We also ask that you keep your phone in your room during our immersion programming hours.
