As part of the IEA EBC Annex 82 "Energy Flexible Buildings Towards Resilient Low Carbon Energy Systems," we are gathering
energy flexibility case studies to identify their characteristics, stakeholder types, value propositions, resources and frameworks in successful approaches. The case studies will be used to develop energy flexibility
business model archetypes and assess their opportunities and challenges in delivering value to energy end-users and energy service providers. This analysis will support an understanding of potential business models that are aligned with stakeholder value propositions, which is seen as an important step toward scaling the adoption and use of energy flexibility technologies for buildings.
We are seeking case studies that have been
deployed and/or tested in real cases instead of conceptual models. All building types are in scope with a particular interest in case studies of aggregated customers and/or buildings. The case studies must include at least one type of energy flexibility provided from building end-uses (e.g., HVAC, lighting, appliances) and may include other sources of energy flexibility (e.g., storage, electric vehicles). Importantly, case studies must be
integrated with an energy grid/system.
All responses will be stored on shared drive with access given to the research team members. Please contact Flávia de Andrade Pereira (flavia.deandradepereira@ucdconnect.ie) if you have questions.
