Personal Statement
Please tell us more about yourself and why you think you are a good candidate for the Sanctuary scholarship (500 – 750 words). This is your opportunity to tell us things that you may not have included in your academic application (which the Scholarship Selection Committee will also read) but are relevant to why you need funding.

This should include information on:

a) How does your chosen degree programme fit with your past experience and interests?
b) What obstacles have you had to overcome in pursuing your education so far?
c) How you plan to use your degree in your future career or further study. What do you intend to do after SOAS?
d) How would you plan to support yourself if you were to receive the tuition fee waiver? This should be a brief outline of your proposed living arrangements and what government, family or charitable support you expect to have access to whilst studying at SOAS, in addition to whatever living support SOAS were able to provide.
