Career Trek Application: NYC/Wall Street 2020


TREK DATES: May 10-15, 2020

JMU College of Business students who are in good standing with the university are eligible to apply for a Career Trek.

The New York City (Finance Focus) is open only to freshmen, sophomores and juniors of all CoB majors, however the trek will focus on industry areas that are specifically of interest to Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Finance majors.

Application Directions:

1) Application: Please complete the application below. Apply by midnight on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

2) Resume Submission: All applicants are required to submit a resume. Please email your resume (PDF or WORD file) to: cobundergradprograms@jmu.edu by the application deadline.

3) Recommendation: One recommendations is required and MUST come from a JMU faculty member. The individual providing the recommendation must complete the online recommendation form at https://forms.gle/d6H2JSKuP9b3haCDA. All recommendations are due by application deadline.

Tips on asking for a recommendation:
-Ask EARLY! Give the person you ask at least a week in advance, preferably two to three weeks advance notice to complete the recommendation form.
-Make a formal request: Ask the person in person, on the phone or in a formal email. Be sure and thank them!
-Chose someone who knows you well!

*Following review of applications, candidates will be invited to participate in a 30 minute in-person interview with Office of Professional Development and Engagement staff and former Career Trek participants.
