For those with fewer than five hives.  The winner will be awarded the Jack Taylor Plaque.

Class 15 - Honey Cake (to recipe below)
A paper plate and polythene bag will be provided for staging.  The winner will be awarded the Nancy Wilshire Rosebowl.

Honey Cake Recipe
Ingredients: 150g(5oz)butter, 175g(6oz) clear honey, 1 tablespoon water,
110g (4oz) soft brown sugar, 2eggs, 200g (7oz) self raising flour.

Put butter, honey, water and sugar into a saucepan and heat until fat melts, stirring all the time.  Leave to cool until at blood temperature.  Gradually beat in the eggs.  Add sieved flour and mix until smooth.  Pour into a greased and lined 180mm (7 inch) tin.  Bake for approx 1 hour until risen and firm to the touch.  180 degrees C, 350 degrees F, gas mark 4.  Timing is only a guide as appliances may vary.

An item made from a product or products of the hive suitable as a gift for a special occasion.

The Bernard Collins Trophy. Awarded to the member judged to have the best exhibit in the show from Classes 1-16.
