Peacetech 101: scholarship application
Peacetech 101 is a practical introduction to innovation and technology for peacebuilders. The first of its kind, this training course consists of 4-weeks of engaging content plus a final week devoted to personal consultation with Build Up team members. It covers innovation processes and technology tools that can be successfully used to build peace and prevent conflict, an emerging body of practice often referred to as ‘peacetech’.

Participants will emerge with a strong understanding of essential principles of peacetech and a core toolkit to design programs that strategically introduce technology tools and innovation processes to their peacebuilding work.

This training course is designed for peacebuilding professionals and practitioners with a focus on hands-on learning, practical content, and applicable tools. No prior knowledge of technology tools or innovation processes is required. However, we do assume a base knowledge and experience of peacebuilding programming.

We are offering five scholarships for this course.
Scholarships are reserved for staff members and supporters of locally based civil society organizations. Affiliates of international organizations are invited to register at this link:

Please apply by June 1 in order to be considered.

Delivered entirely online over a period of five weeks, the course consists of a blend of asynchronous modules for completion at your own pace as well as synchronous webinars and meeting opportunities to deepen learning along with trainers and peers.

With an estimated 20-30 hours of coursework, we recommend budgeting a minimum commitment of 5-6 hours per week and scheduling time for the course around your existing obligations. Additionally, participants will have access to all course content for at least 2 months after the completion of the course.

Participant’s performance will not be graded. However, if assigned activities are completed by the due date, participants will receive feedback on their submissions by Build Up team members.

A weekly live meeting will be held with Build Up trainers, in which participants will be able to ask questions that have come up throughout the module. Additional support is available throughout the course via email or through the course messaging system from a dedicated Build Up course instructor.

Digital skills badges will be awarded upon completion of the course. Participants who complete at least 75% of the course, attend a final consultation meeting, and complete a course evaluation will receive a digital certificate of completion.

Deadline to apply for a scholarship: June 1.
