MBTA Early Bird Campaign Petition!

Public Transit is Public GOOD, and must be affordable & accessible for ALL.
Thousands of Boston area residents begin their days before the rush hour and rely on the MBTA to get to work early in the morning.
Hundreds of these riders are facing dangerously overcrowded and under-serviced buses, particularly in low income neighborhoods & communities of color.

The MBTA is planning to add 150 hours of off-peak bus service to the system this Fall. These public dollars should go where they’ll do the most public good: to more buses on the most overcrowded routes in our communities.
The MBTA should work for all of its riders – especially those who need it most.
Our communities are the backbone of this city and workers are critical to our economy. For too long, poor transit service has made working class lives difficult.
We shouldn't pay more for less!

    WE DEMAND THAT THE MBTA:

    1) Uses new funding, including these 150 new hours, to increase access & equity on the T 2) Implements 10 hours of early morning service (via routes 19, 22, 23, 28, 101, 111, 117, 191-194, & 230) in September 2014 3) Begins working with TRU to identify the remaining ten or more hours to be implemented in December 2014
