AHEC Scholars Program Application
Hello! Welcome to the South Louisiana Area Health Education Centers' AHEC Scholars Program application. We are thrilled you are interested in deepening your understanding of public health and optimizing well-being in rural and underserved populations.

Successful applicants will:
- Commit to AHEC Scholarship for two years
- Complete 40 hours of experiential training with rural and/or underserved populations
- Complete 40 hours of didactic training in topics related to rural and/or underserved populations

The following form will collect basic demographic data, information about your training, and a few short answer questions that will help us get to know you.

You will need:
- A Gmail account
- Your demographic data and contact information
- A pdf of your CV or resume
- A response to the following questions (750-1,000 words each):
1. Describe the experiences, reasons and/or events that led you to choose a career in health care.
2. Please explain why you are interested in applying to the South Louisiana AHEC Scholars Program.
- A list of skills or talents that you would like considered with your application
- The name of at least one professional reference and their contact information

Upon completion of this form, you will receive a confirmation email, and someone will be in touch about the status of your application by mid-June.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
