Early Entrance to Kindergarten Petition
Parents/Guardians of children born after August 1, 2016 AND before October 1, 2016, planning to enroll in kindergarten for the 2021 - 22 school year must complete a Kindergarten Readiness screening process. Please submit the form below by May 18, 2021 to be considered.

In Bowling Green Independent Schools, to be recommended for Early Entrance to Kindergarten (born after August 1, 2016), children need to demonstrate above-average performance and development in academic skills, as well as approaches to learning, health and physical well-being, language and communication development, social and emotional development, and cognitive and general knowledge. The standards for early admittance are high to ensure students are not frustrated by their advanced grade placement. There will be no consideration, including an appeals process, for children with birth dates beyond October 1, 2016. Additionally, final placement considerations will include availability of space and funding.

The process will include multiple measures of the child’s readiness for school. These measures may include, but are not limited to the following:

- Kindergarten Readiness Screener (Brigance) including Parent Social/Emotional Self-Help Scale
- AIMSWeb Math
- AIMSWeb Literacy
- Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
