Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Stone Soup Corvallis embraces diversity by valuing the unique constellations of lived experiences, qualities, and social identities of our community members whom we serve, as well as of our volunteers, donors, staff, and community stakeholders. We honor the dignity and humanity of all people. We welcome and celebrate the unique perspectives and experiences that our volunteers, staff, and partners bring to advance our mission and goals in our work to ensure no one goes hungry in our community. We believe access to food is an inherent human right. We believe that addressing food security is critical to supporting equity, justice, and empowerment for all, because food insecurity disproportionately impacts communities of color, immigrants, refugees, families with children (particularly households led by single mothers), people with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, and people in rural areas of Oregon. Thus, we see addressing hunger and food security as an essential aspect of the larger movement for equity and justice. We strive to extend inclusion and equity in our actions and policies.
Stone Soup's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement is included above. Please share how your experience will assist you in supporting Stone Soup's commitment to promoting and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into operations, services, and practices? *
Please review the Board/Committee responsibilities. Does your schedule allow for the time commitments of this position? Can you provide at least 5 hours a month for Board work including attending Board and Committee meetings if you join the Board? *
If you are not selected as a member of the Board, or if you decide not to join, would you like to be a volunteer to assist our organization in various ways that match your skills and interests through SSCI committee service? *
A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
