SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

JPEC and its many generous donors understand that some families may require financial support for their child to attend this exciting summer program. For this reason, the JPEC Summer Jazz Workshop Organization is accepting scholarship applications as part of the registration process. Candidates who are selected will be emailed conditional offers of scholarship no later than June 1st, 2023.

Should you be interested in applying for a scholarship, select the “JPEC Summer Jazz Scholarship Application Form”and submit the form along with payment and registration documents.

PLACEMENT AUDITIONS

In order to provide an optimal learning experience for each applicant, students will be asked to prepare 2 songs (melody and 2 choruses of solo) at a live audition on July 31st, 2023. Audition times will be emailed to families the week of July 24th, 2023.

Students must perform 2 choruses of solo over the Bb Blues, “Sonnymoon For Two”. Applicants will also be asked questions about music theory and ear-training during the audition. These auditions will be very relaxed and are for the sole purpose of determining which theory, ear-training, and ensemble will be the best fit for each applicant.
LIABILITY WAIVER

Applicants and Parents/Guardians of Applicants under the age of 18 will be required to sign a liability waiver form before the program begins. All participants are to remain on JPEC Summer Jazz Workshop premises during the day, and are only to leave accompanied by a confirmed parent(s) or guardian(s) at the end of the day. Should students leave the premises, the JPEC organization will no longer be liable for the participant and may notify parents that the student has been removed from the program without reimbursement. Students should bring a bagged lunch along with a water bottle.

JPEC has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and alienation of its program participants. The program aims to foster an environment where attendees are encouraged to explore and be themselves. For these reasons, students who alienate or bully other participants may be asked to leave the program without reimbursement.

JPEC Summer Jazz does not administer any medications to its participants. It is the responsibility of participants and/or parents/guardians to administer any and all medications during the week of the program. Should a medical emergency arise, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately and be responsible for any and all costs incurred, to ensure the participant’s well-being.
