Redstone Academy Bursary Form
The Bursary Scheme

Redstone Academy is committed to providing eligible parents/guardians with means-tested financial assistance for the payment of School fees; such support is known as a bursary and is funded through the Zakāt-ul Māl fund.

Bursary awards are subject to a full financial assessment of your overall income and are applicable for one academic year only. Once an award has been made, parents/guardians are welcome to reapply each academic year provided they continue to be eligible.

The amount awarded to each student will vary depending on various factors and will be limited to a maximum of £1,500 of school fees per student, therefore you will be obligated to pay the remaining amount. Whilst the School Directors aim to provide continuity of funding, the amount may be varied each year or no award may be made, depending on circumstances.

Bursaries are awarded at the discretion of the School Directors and management. The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of the process.

FINANCIAL LIMITATIONS

Each case is assessed individually and awards made accordingly, subject to the availability of funding.

In assessing applications Redstone Academy has a duty to ensure that funds are applied properly and appropriately. Applicants are therefore asked to confirm that they have no alternative available source of funding for school fees, for example, family contributions. Applicants are also asked to ensure that they can pay the balance of school fees on time. Failure to do so will jeopardise any bursaries awarded now and in the future.

THE PROCESS

The bursary Application Forms are to be completed and returned with all relevant documents as soon as possible and by no later than 30th September 2024. In exceptional circumstances, applications will be accepted at other times during the academic year.

If an application form is deemed incomplete, or, where the required supporting documentation has not been supplied these forms will be returned.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all relevant information is sent. If this is not possible then a full letter of explanation should accompany the form.

For new applicants, a bursary offer will only be made once a place has been offered in the School.

CONTINUATION OF SUPPORT

All bursary awards are subject to annual renewal for which an updated financial assessment is required. The student's effort, attitude and behaviour will also be taken into account as part of the renewal process. Failure to make payments due from parents/ guardians may result in your bursary being withdrawn.

The School respects the confidentiality of bursary awards made to families and recipients are expected to do likewise.
