PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU PROCEED:
Thank you for writing to us about your experience.
Although residency exchanges are private contracts between the artist and the host residency, it is very important to Res Artis that our member listings are accurate and that both our member organisations and artists act in good faith to provide positive artist residency experiences.
As a third party, our capacity to intervene is limited. We also know that conflicts can often be the result of cultural differences and unclear communication as opposed to malicious intent. This is why we suggest that artists first directly raise any concerns with the residency host, preferably during the residency period.
Post-residency we are able to approach the residency provider with the information about your experience in an attempt to reopen communication between both parties, and to help improve the accuracy of our listing and future artists’ residency experiences. If would like to elaborate on your experience, we can present this information to the residency provider.
Res Artis expects its members to adhere to the Res Artis Mission, Vision and Values:
www.resartis.org/en/about/about_res_artis/vision_mission__values/ Res Artis reserves the right to remove the residency listing from our website and suspend or expel the residency organisation if it acts in a way that is not in line with our mission and values. However, such decisions are taken with utmost seriousness and require accounts from both the artist and the residency organisation.
WE CAN OPEN UP THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN YOU AND THE RESIDENCY PROVIDER IN ORDER TO TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AT HAND. WE DO NOT PROVIDE A REVIEW SERVICE FOR RESIDENCIES.
