Therefore, we the undersigned reject the DOE proposal to move to the East Side and instead look forward to implementing a Community School initiative that will fulfill the dreams of Edward A. Reynolds. We hope to work collaboratively with the Department of Education, the Transfer School District and community members to become a Community School that expands and opens up our daycare, healthcare, sports and dining facilities; job readiness programs to youth and adults; and can help address the public health crises of trauma, drug use, gun violence, homelessness, displacement and interpersonal conflict that affects so many people in our city.
