Jook Songs, Yale's premier Asian American poetry and performance group, was founded in 1999 by alumnus David Lin. We have since collaborated with Sally Wen Mao, Princess Nokia, and the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Each year, we put on two spoken word shows, host open mics, and meet weekly at the Asian American Cultural Center.
Jook Songs is currently working to compile an updated alumni mailing list. We would love to invite alums to our shows, feature any poetry/writing-related work they are doing on our social media accounts, and keep them in the loop about all things Jook Songs.
If you were involved in Jook Songs during your time at Yale, please fill out this Google form to stay connected! The current members of Jook Songs would love to be in touch.
